Museum of Communication
Specialise in communications technology from the pre-electric optical telegraph used in the Napoleonic Wars to the latest state-of-the-art web cams and cameras for mobile phones, currently featured in the Guinness Book of Records!
The Museum has a major collection – over 40 tonnes - of artefacts covering electrostatics, telegraphy, telephony, audio, radio, television and video and IT ……as well as some early experimental radar, satellite, photographic and printing equipment plus a technical library of scientific literature and related documentation.

The Star
The Star is a small local historic pub dating from 1675 which offers a friendly welcome and a chance to relax, either inside or out in the large beer garden. We offer hot and cold drinks and a selection of crisps nuts and toasties. Soup and sandwiches can be provided with prior arrangement and there is a barbeque available in the beer garden also by prior arrangement.
